With effect from 28 January 2020, Communicatio AG, a Maffei & Co. company, is selling its majority stake in the Berlin-based IT service provider ikusei GmbH.
The stake was acquired in mid-2017. The initial situation was that ikusei GmbH was too small a market player despite its good market position in Ruby programming.
With the support of Maffei & Co., a complementary Berlin-based IT company was acquired in June 2019 and merged with ikusei GmbH. The restructured and reorganised company was sold back to the existing shareholders in January 2020.
Communicatio AG generated a return in the high double-digit percentage range from this business in the two years of its investment due to the increase in value.
